Growing Peace. Honoring Kevin. Bringing Our Community Together.
Shrewsbury Rotary and the Doherty family invite the community to help create a lasting place of peace, remembrance, and connection at Jordan Pond.
For generations, Jordan Pond has been a cherished gathering place in Shrewsbury. From fishing and boating to ice skating and peaceful walks, it has been a place where families make memories and neighbors connect with nature.
Now, our community has an opportunity to come together and write a hopeful new chapter for this beloved space.
In partnership with Kevin Doherty's family, the Rotary Club of Shrewsbury is helping create the Kevin Doherty Peace Garden — a beautiful, welcoming space that will honor Kevin's life while celebrating the strength, compassion, and resilience of our community.
The proposed garden will feature colorful native plantings, peaceful seating areas, a symbolic tree sculpture, a peace pole, and hand-painted rocks created by local students. Each element is designed to encourage reflection, inspire kindness, and create a sense of belonging.
More than a memorial, the Peace Garden represents a community coming together to reclaim a cherished space and transform it into a lasting symbol of hope.
This is a garden for everyone — for families enjoying Jordan Pond, neighbors seeking a quiet moment, and future generations who will grow up knowing this as a place of peace.
And like any garden, it will flourish through the care and generosity of the community.
We invite you to be part of this meaningful project. Whether through a donation, volunteering, or simply sharing the vision, every contribution helps bring the Kevin Doherty Peace Garden to life.
Together, we can plant seeds of kindness, grow hope, and create a lasting legacy of peace in Shrewsbury.
