SYFS Holiday Toy Drive
The club's Freshman Project was to help organize the annual Shrewsbury Youth & Family Services Toy Drive. There were several opportunities for all club members to volunteer to help make the holidays brighter for more than 90 children this year!  (photo credit to Christine Mowry, SYFS).

Planning for Annual Food and Brew Fest Underway!
It's time to start thinking about our annual Food and Brew Fest scheduled for Sunday, June 23rd at Avidia Bank. Planning is underway and as members of our group leave the club it is necessary to add new people to the committee to help balance the workload. Although this event involves all members of the club on the actual day of the event, help is needed on the committee to secure sponsors and vendors, secure items for the raffle and assemble the baskets, organize a craft area for kids, and coordinate event publicity. The committee will meet on Thursday, January 10th at Avidia Bank at 9 am and all are welcome to attend to learn more about how to get more involved with this great event and major fundraiser for our club.
Towns of Love for Ava Roy
State Representative Hannah Kane, members of the Shrewsbury, Westborough, and Northborough fire departments, local elected leaders and residents from the community will come together to host a fundraiser to benefit the family of deceased Worcester fire fighter and Shrewsbury resident, Christopher Roy, who lost his life battling a fire at the beginning of December. Roy leaves behind a nine year old daughter, Ava, a Shrewsbury Public Schools student. "Towns of Love for Ava Roy" will be held on Friday, January 25th (snow date Friday, February 8th) from 7-11 pm at Maironis Park and feature live music from multiple bands and an extensive raffle and silent auction.

The auction/raffle committee will meet on Wednesday, January 2nd at 10 am and there will be an organizational meeting for anyone interested in helping with other tasks on Monday, January 7th at 9 am. Both meetings will be held in the meeting room at the Shrewsbury fire station.

Items for the auction and raffle are needed and can be dropped off at the Shrewsbury fire station on Church Road. Information on ticket sales and sponsorship opportunities will be shared as it becomes available.  Club members Mindy McKenzie, Jason Palitsch and Beth Casavant are currently involved in the planning and invite others to participate and/or attend. They are also able to collect auction/raffle items and answer any questions.
Meeting Mondays at 12:15 PM at the Post Office Pub, 1 Ray St., No. Grafton
